UAE salary guide 2027: monthly pay by job role in AED

How much can you really earn in the UAE in 2027? Salary figures online vary wildly, so this guide brings together typical monthly pay ranges for more than 50 common roles, compiled from several current UAE salary guides, with rupee equivalents for Indian readers and practical insights for each sector.

How to read the tables. Figures are typical 2026 monthly ranges in AED, usually total monthly pay (basic plus allowances) unless noted. Rupee figures use about ₹26.2 per dirham, the rate in early October 2026 (Exchange-Rates.org), shown in lakh per month. Treat them as planning ranges, not quotes.

Free tool: look up a role and check your own offer with the UAE Salary Checker. It shows typical monthly pay in AED and INR for 38 roles.

The big picture for 2027

Engineering manager / director50,000 – 120,00013.1 – 31.4

Sources: Relocate2UAE, Gulf Prime, Dubai Money Matters, Arabian Business / Michael Page, Tuscan Consulting, GoCareer.

Insight: Tech is the UAE's fastest-growing pay area. GenAI engineers and AI product managers earn AED 30,000–45,000 a month in Michael Page's 2026 guide (Arabian Business), and only three AI-related roles were listed in its 2022 edition (The National). The biggest premiums go to AI, cloud and security skills, not general IT support.

Finance and banking

RoleMonthly pay (AED)≈ ₹ lakh / month
Junior accountant4,000 – 7,0001.0 – 1.8
Financial analyst7,000 – 14,0001.8 – 3.7
Senior accountant8,000 – 15,0002.1 – 3.9
Accountant10,000 – 20,0002.6 – 5.2
Finance manager18,000 – 45,0004.7 – 11.8
Chief financial officer (CFO)45,000 – 140,00011.8 – 36.7

Sources: Etqaan, Relocate2UAE.

Insight: Banking and financial services is the UAE's best-paid sector, with an average of AED 53,020 a month in Michael Page's 2026 guide (The National). Professional qualifications make a dramatic difference: one guide puts entry-level accountants from India at AED 3,500–5,500, against AED 15,000–27,000 for ACCA-qualified accountants (LeapScholar). If you're in finance, an ACCA, CA, CPA or CFA is often the single biggest pay lever.

Engineering and construction

RoleMonthly pay (AED)≈ ₹ lakh / month
AutoCAD draftsman4,000 – 7,5001.0 – 2.0
Safety officer (NEBOSH)5,000 – 9,0001.3 – 2.4
Site engineer8,000 – 15,0002.1 – 3.9
MEP engineer12,000 – 22,0003.1 – 5.8
Quantity surveyor12,000 – 25,0003.1 – 6.6
Senior civil engineer15,000 – 28,0003.9 – 7.3
Construction manager25,000 – 50,0006.6 – 13.1
Project director35,000 – 70,0009.2 – 18.3
Construction project manager40,000 – 60,00010.5 – 15.7

Sources: Etqaan, Relocate2UAE (citing Hays), Mahad Manpower.

Insight: Construction pay depends heavily on project scale and Gulf experience. Large government and giga-project contractors pay at the top of these ranges, smaller contractors at the bottom. Abu Dhabi often pays a little more than Dubai for the same engineering role — one guide puts mechanical and electrical engineers with 3–7 years' experience at AED 10,000–20,000 in Dubai versus AED 12,000–23,000 in Abu Dhabi (Talent Finder UAE).

Healthcare

RoleMonthly pay (AED)≈ ₹ lakh / month
Lab technologist6,000 – 14,0001.6 – 3.7
Registered nurse (BSN)7,000 – 14,0001.8 – 3.7
Physiotherapist8,000 – 18,0002.1 – 4.7
Senior nurse (5+ years)10,000 – 18,0002.6 – 4.7
Pharmacist10,000 – 22,0002.6 – 5.8
Dentist15,000 – 35,0003.9 – 9.2
Specialist doctor45,000 – 80,00011.8 – 21.0

Sources: Etqaan, GoCareer, Dubai Money Matters, Recruitly.

Insight: Healthcare roles need a UAE licence — from the DHA in Dubai, DoH in Abu Dhabi or MOHAP elsewhere — and pay jumps once you hold one. Junior nurses are often given accommodation on top of AED 6,000–10,000 a month (GoCareer), which changes the real value of the offer considerably. Start your licensing exams and credential verification early; they're often the slowest part of moving.

Education

RoleMonthly pay (AED)≈ ₹ lakh / month
Teaching assistant5,000 – 8,0001.3 – 2.1
Classroom teacher9,000 – 15,000 + housing2.4 – 3.9 + housing
Experienced teacher (average)About 14,750About 3.9
University lecturer12,000 – 20,0003.1 – 5.2

Sources: Dubai Money Matters, Relocate2UAE (citing Teacher Horizons).

Insight: Teachers trained in the UK, US or Australia usually earn at the top of these ranges. Many international schools also provide housing, annual flights and free or discounted tuition for teachers' own children, which can be worth more than a higher salary elsewhere. Indian-curriculum schools generally pay less than international schools. See our guide Indian Schools in the UAE for the school landscape.

HR, admin, sales and marketing

RoleMonthly pay (AED)≈ ₹ lakh / month
Receptionist / admin3,500 – 6,0000.9 – 1.6
HR assistant4,000 – 7,0001.0 – 1.8
Sales executive6,000 – 15,000 + commission1.6 – 3.9 + commission
HR business partner10,000 – 18,0002.6 – 4.7
HR manager12,000 – 35,0003.1 – 9.2
Marketing manager16,000 – 25,0004.2 – 6.6
HR director25,000 – 50,0006.6 – 13.1
PR and communications manager30,000 – 65,0007.9 – 17.0
Sales and marketing director (average)About 70,000About 18.3

Sources: GoCareer, Etqaan, Life Indexed, Relocate2UAE, Recruitly, What's On / Michael Page.

Insight: Sales is where UAE pay varies most. Commission can double a base salary for strong performers — especially in real estate — while others stay close to base pay. HR salaries vary widely by company size: multinationals and large groups pay far above the lower end of the range.

Legal

RoleMonthly pay (AED)≈ ₹ lakh / month
Paralegal (average)About 22,500About 5.9
Associate (average)About 48,000About 12.6
Senior associate (average)About 65,000About 17.0

Source: Michael Page UAE Salary Guide 2026, as reported by What's On.

Insight: Legal roles at international firms in Dubai and Abu Dhabi pay very well, but they usually require qualifications from common-law jurisdictions (such as England and Wales) and experience with international clients. Practising as a lawyer who appears before UAE courts is restricted to UAE nationals (u.ae), so check what your qualification allows before applying.

Hospitality, retail and services

RoleMonthly pay (AED)≈ ₹ / month
Helper / cleaner1,200 – 1,800 (often with food and accommodation)₹31,000 – 47,000
Driver2,000 – 4,000₹0.5 – 1.0 lakh
Delivery driver2,500 – 4,500₹0.7 – 1.2 lakh
Hotel staff3,000 – 6,000₹0.8 – 1.6 lakh
Executive chef12,000 – 22,000₹3.1 – 5.8 lakh

Sources: GoCareer, Life Indexed, Dubai Money Matters.

Insight: For these roles, accommodation, food and transport are often provided, so always compare the full package. A salary of AED 4,000–6,000 is described as survivable in Dubai but comfortable in Sharjah or Ajman (Mahad Manpower). Never pay a recruiter for these jobs — UAE employers must cover recruitment costs.

Five things to know before you compare offers

  1. Abu Dhabi often pays more than Dubai for the same role. One guide puts an HR manager with 5–10 years' experience at AED 15,000–30,000 in Dubai versus AED 18,000–35,000 in Abu Dhabi (Talent Finder UAE).
  2. Check the basic salary, not just the total. End-of-service gratuity is calculated on basic pay only, so two offers with the same total can be worth very different amounts. See our guide How to Evaluate a UAE Job Offer: Basic vs Allowances.
  3. Expats have no minimum wage. Private-sector Emiratis must be paid at least AED 6,000 a month from 1 January 2026, but there's no general minimum wage for expats (VJM Global) — so negotiate on market rates.
  4. Qualifications and licences move you up the range, often more than years of experience: ACCA or CPA in finance, DHA or DoH licences in healthcare, PMP or chartered status in engineering, and AI or cloud certifications in tech.
  5. Compare against living costs. A higher salary in Dubai can leave you with less than a lower one in Sharjah or Abu Dhabi once rent is paid. See our guides Moving From India to the UAE: Salary vs Cost of Living and How Much Rent to Expect in the UAE in 2027.

The bottom line

UAE salaries in 2027 will grow steadily rather than dramatically, with the biggest gains in AI, cloud, cybersecurity and specialised finance. Where you land within each range depends less on your job title and more on your qualifications, licences, Gulf experience, the employer's size and the emirate. Use these ranges to sense-check offers, negotiate on the full package, and always weigh pay against living costs.
